Déjà Vu at Our Wicked Lady

  • Our Wicked Lady 153 Morgan Avenue Brooklyn, NY, 11237 United States (map)

It’s the last Déjà Vu of the year (or is it???) and we had to close it off with a great selection of DJs for a night of dancing on the rooftop of Our Wicked Lady in Bushwick, NY.

From Austin. Texas we have Trucha Soul bringing his vinyl collection with him. Be ready for some alta cumbia from Mexico, Colombia, and beyond. PONTE TRUCHA!

From Barranquilla and now making Brooklyn her home, Madame Vacile brings her Caribbean sabor to this Bushwick rooftop. She is no stranger to this party and we love having her rock the dancefloor.

To round off the night we got local underground star Prince of Queens bringing that calle flow to the house. Always a blast to host our talented friends.

Trucha Soul Records is an all vinyl research project, label and live cumbia DJ experience. Based in Austin, TX we are the only standing Latino music-focused vinyl imprint, the label will feature specialty artist collaborations, sonidero-style mixes and rare found music releases from Texas, Mexico and beyond.

Verónica Villegas aka MADAME VACILE is a top music selectress, DJ and cultural activist currently based in Brooklyn, NY. She got started in the musical world with the research of traditional sounds of champeta culture, diving into those rhythms deeply rooted in Kenia, Uganda, Rwanda, Mozambique among other African nations. She has used all those sounds and combined it with the Caribbean sabrosura of the Colombian coast to bring a truly unique style of DJ performance that reflects the power of nightlife as a place of joy and resistance.

Prince of Queens

Hailing from a futuristic landscape where gravel, glass and steel rub up against tropical traditions passed down to street-savvy Third Culture kids, Prince of Queens has made it his mission to synthesize NYC’s trans-caribbean culture clash and turn it into something entirely unique: deep techno improbably sprouted from tropic disco; demented cumbia and merengue as imagined by a clever, glitchy robot; a nod to Detroit from a Colombian immigrant’s point of view.
