DJs:

Adrian is Hungry (Kuzumbo records)

Adrian is Hungry has  been collecting and sharing vintage afro-rooted music for the past 6 years in New York City. Tropical sounds from Colombia, New York, the Antilles, Venezuela, Peru, Africa, and more with an emphasis on danceable tunes that hit a nostalgia chord and bring you back to dancing with your tia at a family house party.

A traveler and cultural anthropologist at heart, he’s been exploring and rediscovering his cultural identity through music research and curation, creating spaces in Brooklyn to bring this sound back into the Barrio.

Prince of Queens (Combo Chimbita)

Having embraced the wide wired world of modular synthesis, Prince of Queens aka Felipe Quiroz has already proved fit and formidable in dialing in the necessary sonic component of his current stargazing outfit Combo Chimbita. His first two solo records on NYCT have only added to an already wide-ranging electronic fluency, yet have also brought a flare and understanding of dance music foundation that in combination is rarely matched.

Little Dynasty (Names You Can Trust)

Names You Can Trust is an independent record label based out of Brooklyn, NY. Since 2004, the label has manufactured a mix of vintage & modern sounds typical of the New York experience – – spanning Afro-Latin, Reggae, Disco, Dance & Instrumental Music. NYCT has operated on the cutting edge of the intimate connection between New York City’s immigrant population and its global roots, having debuted several new-generational acts from the burgeoning markets of South America including Colombia, Brazil, Peru & Argentina. The label’s constantly expanding roster is a perfect glimpse into the local yet global New York City underground
